Controversial Irishman, Denis Frimpong (6-2), maintains his active year by securing an anticipated showdown with surging talent, Peter Gabal (7-3), at OKTAGON 76 in Frankfurt, Germany.
The two men have exchanged words since they both picked up stoppage victories on the same card two months ago but on Saturday, September 20, all of the talking will stop.
Since Frimpong signed a new contract with the promotion earlier this year, he has looked nothing short of spectacular. The Manchester Top Team product dominated top prospect, Robin Frank, to earn a unanimous decision win and followed that display up by knocking out Arijan Topallaj in their heated grudge match.
Frimpong has now entered the top 10 of the division and ‘The Menace’ knows that if he dispatches of another adversary, it won’t be long before he enters the title picture.
Peter Gabal is showing the best form of his career following an extended run as an amateur in the IMMAF ranks. He closed out 2024 by delivering a shut-out victory over Benny Bajrami and then imposed his relentless and aggressive striking game on Elias Jakobi at OKTAGON 71 to land a stoppage win – the biggest statement victory of his career so far.
Some big German names are set to be spotlighted on this event inside the iconic Festhalle Frankfurt including European standout, Lom-Ali Eskiev, heavyweight giant, Patrick Vespaziani, and rising superstar, Alina Dalaslan. UFC veteran, Alan Omer, young talent, Fedor Duric, and brother of Islam, Tamerlan Dulatov, are also slated to feature.
